Montruc

Barbera d’Asti Superiore

In French, Montruc means “my thing”, a homage by Franco M. Martinetti to Barbera, the varietal he was weaned on, interpreted through his sensibility and aesthetics. Incidentally, “truc” is also Piedmontese dialect for hillock, so the name of the wine can also be read as “my own hillock”.

TASTING NOTES

The wine has an intense garnet colour with violet hues: the wise refinement in barriques amplifies and harmonizes the primary aromas. The bouquet – as broad-ranging as an adagio organ piece – fans out convincingly.

gastronomic combination

The palate confirms the intense perceptions of the eye and the nose and tells us that this wine is the ideal match for roast red meats, game birds and mature cheeses. Montruc ranks among the very best Barbera wines, as highlighted by the numerous awards received.
